Resonant Spin Transmission Mediated by Magnons in a Magnetic Insulator Multilayer Structure

While being electrically insulating, magnetic insulators can behave as good spin conductors by carrying current with excited waves. So far, are utilized in multilayer heterostructures for optimizing transport or to form magnon valves reaching controls over the flow. In these studies, it remains an intensively visited topic what corresponding roles of coherent and incoherent magnons transmission. Meanwhile, understanding underlying mechanism associated transmission help identify new mechanisms that further improve efficiency. Here, studying a magnetic-metal/magnetic-insulator/platinum multilayer, is demonstrated transfer spins efficiently above bandgap insulators. Particularly standing spin-wave mode greatly enhance flow inducing resonant Furthermore, within bandgap, shutdown due blocking observed. The enhancement filtering effect provides efficient method modulating magnonic devices.
